Children in Ukraine spend around 2 hours every day in school shelters during air alerts.
School shelters are no longer temporary spaces, for many children, they are part of everyday life.
That is why we are launching a research project on child-friendly school shelters in Ukraine.
Over the next months, we will conduct a research exploring how shelters can become safer, more humane, and more supportive environments for children.
The process includes research, school visits, expert meetings, workshops with children and teachers and design labs with students.
